Principal Architect - Telecommunication

Job Description

Our firm, Africa-One Consulting has been retained to provide Principal Architects – Telecommunication at one of South Africa’s municipality. As such, we are looking for Principal Architects in Telecommunication. Preference will be given to candidates with certification.

Responsibilities

• Compile and manage Masterplan for Telecommunication
• Implement Network Services
• Develop Project Scopes
• Develop Telecommunication Network Strategy
• Develop Telecommunication Infrastructure Strategy
• Prepare Business Plans
• Manage Staff
• Lead (and organize) projects driving the design, creation, testing, and delivery of technical functionality.
• Support business growth and proposal teams by writing proposal sections, providing guidance, and contributing to the creation of cost and effort estimates.
• Author, review, and lead the creation of white papers and contract artifacts
• Create process, technical architecture, design and user guide documentation.
• Lead, author, and contribute to the development of IT related, technical processes reviews, postmortems, and continual process improvement internally as well as for customers/stakeholders.
• Help establish a highly collaborative environment that values speed and quality, and perform feature development within sprints to support the high company standards.
• Collaborate with team members to define, analyze, understand and document business and technical requirements.
• Collaborate with technical staff to define implementation and process best practices.
• Provided solutions and services to major carriers including business transformation, migrations, business process optimization, enterprise technology integration, full software development life cycle, cloud solutions, solution and data architecture, project leadership and management, risk management, program management process and systems outsourcing, managed services, and offshore development.
• Managed end-to-end development and delivery of software solutions in areas such as broadband and video workflows, marketing, sales, order management, customer care, call center, billing, finance, supply chain, network, web services & production operations support.
• Experience with hands-on data analytics, data architecture, KPI metrics and dashboard development.
• Provided solutions and services to major carriers including business transformation, migrations, business process optimization, enterprise technology integration, full software development life cycle, cloud solutions, solution and data architecture, project leadership and management, risk management, program management process and systems outsourcing, managed services, and offshore development.
• Managed end-to-end development and delivery of software solutions in areas such as broadband and video workflows, marketing, sales, order management, customer care, call center, billing, finance, supply chain, network, web services & production operations support.

Required education:

• B-Tech or First Degree in an Engineering field

Required experience:

• + 15 years’ experience in a Telecommunications environment [Network field (MAN, WAN ,LAN and radio)]
• Experience with a telecommunications system of more than 10,000 users spanning more than 350 sites

• Extensive understanding of a Telecommunication Data and
• Radio Network,
• Extensive understanding of a Telecommunication Outside Plant environment.
• Extensive understanding of fibre network design and specifications Telecommunication data network technical design and specifications
• Basic knowledge of Telecommunication GIS systems
• Ability to write tender specifications
• Document writing
• Negotiation skills Good oral communication and interpersonal skills.
• Microsoft word, Excel level 3, Power Point, Visio.
• Driver’s license and own vehicle
